Delhi Murder: The police in Delhi have instructed all of their units to report any unexplained bodies or body parts discovered in their districts since May in relation to the horrifying murder of Shraddha Walkar by her live-in lover Aftab Ameen Poonawala.
Shraddha Walkar, 26, is accused of being strangled on May 18 and having her body cut up into 35 pieces. According to police, Aftab Poonawala may have dispersed the pieces throughout the city to avoid being found.
The severed head of Shraddha Walkar, which is still missing, is a key piece of information that the police need to establish a case against 28-year-old Aftab. 15 districts and about 178 police stations have been instructed to specifically search for any dead or severed pieces discovered between May and July.
When Aftab was taken by the police to the Mehrauli jungles close to the residence in Chhatarpur, South Delhi, where he reportedly killed his companion and sliced her up, some 10 bags of body parts were discovered earlier this week.
The couple travelled to Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh before arriving in Delhi in May, and the Delhi police will also take Aftab there.
In June, the police discovered a cut head and hand in Trilokpuri, east Delhi. A DNA test report is anticipated soon.
A DNA test has also been requested for the bones discovered in the Mehrauli woodland.
Aftab Poonawala admitted to the police that he killed Shraddha, dismembered her body, and then disposed of the parts over the course of 18 days, leaving the house at two in the morning each day.
A narco test on Aftab has been approved by a court.
