Navjot Singh Sidhu
The Punjab Congress is in turmoil. A few days ago, Navjot Singh Sidhu, the new president of the Punjab Congress, resigned. Navjot Singh Sidhu has sent his resignation letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi. "He cannot compromise with his character and compromise destroys the reputation of the person," Sidhu wrote in his resignation letter to Sonia Gandhi. "He cannot compromise with the agenda created for the future and the interest of Punjab, so I am resigning as the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, but I will continue to work for the Congress," Sidhu wrote.

The Congress party in July announced the appointment of Navjot Singh Sidhu as the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. After the formation of Sidhu, there was a great upheaval in the Punjab Congress and the Punjab government. The Congress party also removed Capt Amarinder Singh from the Chief Minister's post due to Sidhu's opposition. Now that Capt Amarinder Singh has been removed from the Chief Minister's post and Charanjit Singh Channy, close to Sidhu, has been made the new Chief Minister, Sidhu has resigned as President.
Now, amid political turmoil, former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is arriving in Delhi today, September 28. Before Amarinder Singh, his loyal former ministers and Congress leaders have gathered in Delhi. It seems that there is a good chance of some major upheaval in the political development of Punjab.
Amit Shah and JP Nadda can meet former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh:
During his visit to Delhi, Capt Amarinder Singh may meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda. There is a lot of speculation going on about this. It may be recalled that Amarinder Singh had resigned from the post of Chief Minister this month following an ongoing feud with Navjot Singh Sidhu. After this, the Congress made Charanjit Singh Channy the Chief Minister of Punjab.
There is also speculation about forming a separate party:
After resigning as CM, Amarinder Singh said, "I feel humiliated. The decision has been taken since then." With this, he openly opposed Navjot Singh Sidhu and said that he would not allow Sidhu to become CM. Amarinder Singh said he would field a strong candidate against Sidhu. Because of this, there was speculation that he might form his own party in Punjab.
In Punjab, ministers were assigned different departments:
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channy has handed over the portfolios of the new cabinet ministers. Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has been given charge of Home, Cooperatives and Jails, while another Deputy Chief Minister OP Soni has been given charge of Health and Family Welfare and Ex-Servicemen's Welfare and Freedom Fighters' Welfare. Apart from this, the finance department has been handed over to Manpreet Singh Badal, while CM Channy has 14 departments including staff, vigilance, general administration.
