Reservations have to be taken months in advance to travel by train. Reservations are made in two ways. The first ticket can be booked through the reservation window and the second through online (online train ticket booking). But people get in trouble when all of a sudden they have to travel for some work and don’t get a reservation. In such a case, people only know the option of instant ticket booking rules. But, today we are telling you another option, in which you can also travel with a platform ticket.
If you don’t have a reservation and you just boarded the train with a platform ticket, you don’t need to be panic.
You can get a ticket very easily by going to the ticket checker. This rule has been made only by the railways. The person aboard the platform ticket must immediately contact the TTE and obtain a ticket for the destination.
Sometimes the TTE may refuse to give you a reserved seat if the seat is not vacant. But, travel can’t stop. If you do not have a reservation, a fine of Rs 250 and travel fare will be charged from the passenger. These are important rules of the railway that you should know before traveling.
The platform ticket gives the passenger the right to board the train. With this, the passenger has to pay the fare from the same station from where he has taken the platform ticket. At the time of charging fare, the departure station will also be considered as the same station. And most importantly, the fare will also be charged from the passenger for the same class in which he will travel.
If you miss your train for any reason, TTE will not be able to allot your seat to anyone till the next two stations. That is, at the next two stations, you can reach the front of the train and complete your journey. But keep in mind, after two stations, TTE can allocate a seat to the passenger with RAC ticket.
If you have taken an e-ticket and after boarding the train, you will know that the ticket has been lost, then you can get your ticket by paying a penalty of Rs 50 to the Ticket Checker (TTE). Keep these rules in mind before traveling by train.
