Bombay HC adjourns hearing in Tarun Tejpal case till Sep 20

The Goa Bench of the Bombay High Court on Tuesday deferred the conference on the Goa government's allure against columnist Tarun Tejpal's vindication in a 2013 assault case, forthcoming a solicitation before the Chief Justice for a crossbreed (physical in addition to virtual) hearing into the matter.

The court fixed September 20 for the following hearing.

Notwithstanding, Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta, showing up for the Goa government, had around then gone against Tejpal's solicitation for the 'in-camera hearing', saying the "country has the privilege to realize how the organization managed the young lady (casualty)".

On Tuesday, state Advocate General Devidas Pangam and a legal advisor addressing Tejpal looked for time from a seat of Justices M S Sonak and M S Jawalkar, as they are yet to document their applications before the Chief Justice for the mixture hearing into the matter.

Pangam mentioned the seat to defer the matter by an additional fourteen days to record the application before the Chief Justice.

The seat then, at that point fixed the matter for hearing on September 20. Specialist General Mehta was absent in the court on Tuesday. 

On May 21 this year, a meetings court cleared Tejpal, the previous supervisor in-head of the Tehelka magazine, for the situation where he was blamed for physically attacking his then-partner in a lift of a five-star hotel at Goa in November 2013 when they were going to an occasion. Afterward, the Goa government documented an allure against it in the HC.
