The Char Dham Yatra didn't occur for the beyond two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Kedarnath Yatra has been briefly ended in the midst of high downpour ready and persistent downpour since Monday morning, said the police, adding that the aficionados have been asked not to climb to the sanctuary and to get back to their lodgings.
"After the orange ready and perpetual downpour since morning, we have halted enthusiasts by walking and have been encouraging them to get back to their hotels...Do not climb to the sanctuary for the present and remain safe," said Pramod Kumar, Circle Officer, Rudraprayag.
The Char Dham Yatra didn't occur for the beyond two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, it began on May 3, on the event of Akshay Tritiya. While Kedarnath re-opened on May 6, the entryways of Badrinath opened on May 8.
