Uttarakhand Flood Updates: 16 Died Amid Heavy Rains, Destruction In State
Uttarakhand: Uttarakhand's heavy rain for the third day in a row has led to chaos and disaster throughout the hilly country, with flooded roads and buildings, collapsing bridges and floodwaters leaving local people and tourists homeless - some in remote and dangerous areas.
Sixteen people were reported dead, including Nepalese workers buried in the rubble, and people from the Champawat region where a house collapsed after a landslide.
The injured have left the authorities in fear for the lives of people who may be trapped under the rubble.

Amid the chaos, Nainital Lake overflows, a bridge over the Chalti River is flooded, and a car with passengers inside is caught between two rocks in the middle of a swollen stream.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red flag for Uttarakhand with a forecast of heavy to heavy rains in the province on Monday.
In what is to come as a progressive relief, the weather department has shown a "significant decrease in rainfall in Uttarakhand from today", and predicts a "separate" rainfall.
