PM Narendra Modi Talked With Global Ceos Of Oil And Gas Companies Amid Record High |
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi held a meeting with the CEOs of oil companies Possibility of finding a solid solution to reduce fuel prices
Petrol-diesel prices in the country are at record highs. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with the CEOs of the world's leading oil and gas companies began on Wednesday. The meeting is expected to find a concrete solution to reduce fuel prices.
Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry Secretary Tarun Kapoor, while briefing on PM Narendra Modi's meeting with the global CEO, said that the roundtable meeting with PM Modi would give the CEOs of each oil and energy company three minutes to speak. The Prime Minister will then give his views.
These companies joined the CEO
The meeting with the Prime Minister was attended by Dr. Igor Sachin, Chairman and CEO of Russia's Roseneft, Saudi Aramco, Amin Nasir, President and CEO of Saudi Arabia, Oliver Lee Peach, CEO of British Petroleum, UK, Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Vedanta Limited Chairman Anil Agarwal were present.
Will the solution be found on expensive petrol and diesel?
Informing about the meeting, Kapoor said, "These talks will include a dialogue on increasing crude oil production." Because petrol and diesel prices are rising sharply and have now gone beyond a limit. He said oil-producing countries should respond to the issue. We do not support a sudden drop in oil prices. But crude oil producers need to understand that even such high fuel prices are not fair.
Price limits can be set
Secretary Tarun Kapoor expressed the possibility that a system could be set up to limit oil prices at the meeting. It also said the government was looking into the need to see if oil could be bought on the basis of any other price index. Can oil be imported from other sources in India if prices fluctuate too much? This volatility in prices is not going to last long and it will become normal. Special difference between supply and demand.
