Following drug trafficking in Mundra, Adani Ports says it will not carry shipments from Iran, Pakistan or Afghanistan
Almost a month after more than 2,988 kg of heroin was seized from a compartment at the Mundra port in Gujarat, Adani Ports has given an assertion saying that it won't deal with any freight beginning from Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
In an assertion on Monday, Adani Ports and Logistics said it won't deal with "EXIM [Export-Import] containerized freight beginning from Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan" beginning November 15.
This exchange warning will apply to "all terminals" worked by APSEZ [Adani Ports and SEZ], including outsider terminals at any APSEZ port, the explanation proceeded to add.
One of the country's biggest business port administrators, Adani Ports, and Logistics has a presence across 13 homegrown ports in seven states, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha.
In September, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) held onto compartments with almost 3,000 kg of heroin from the Mundra port in Gujarat's Kutch, overseen by Adani Ports. Authorities had fixed the worth of the seizure at an expected Rs 21,000 crore.
Imported from Afghanistan's Kandahar, the holders were addressed to an exchanging firm situated in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh and showed up at Mundra from Iran's Bandar Abbas Port.
