Gujrat: Due To Heavy Rain, 200 Roads And 55 Route Of ST Buses Are Close.

Amidst the rainy weather in the state, Saurashtra has received universal rainfall in the last 24 hours. In which 214 mm in Lodhika of Rajkot district. That is 21 inches, 6 mm in Visavadar of Junagadh. That is 12 inches, 305 mm in Kalawad. That is 12 inches and in Rajkot it is 3 mm.

According to the reports received by the State Emergency Operations Center, Lodhika, Visavadar, Kalawad and Rajkot received 41 to 15 inches of rain till 9.00 am on September 17, 2021. While Dhoraji, Junagadh, Junagadh city, Kotdasangani, Gondal, Jamkandora, Kaprada, Paddhari, Dharampur, Ranavav, Talala and Mendarda of the state have received significant rainfall of 10 inches to 5 inches in 12 talukas.


A total of 20 talukas received six to four inches of rain

In addition, Porbandar, Waghai, Malia, Vapi, Vanthali, Jamnagar, Jamjodhpur, Upleta, Dholera, Dhrol, Umargam, Dang, Manavadar, Bhesan, Wadia, Lalpur, Vansada, Bhanwad, Kutiana and Kalyanpur were found in a total of 20 talukas ranging from six inches to four inches. It's raining. While 21 talukas have received rainfall of four inches to one inch and other 6 talukas have received less than one inch of rainfall.



The highest was recorded in Saurashtra zone at 70.50 per cent

It may be mentioned here that the total average rainfall of the current season has been recorded as 7.5 percent. The highest average rainfall was recorded in Saurashtra zone at 30.50 per cent, South Gujarat at 61.12 per cent, Kutch zone at 20.8 per cent, East-Central Gujarat at 7.5 per cent and North Gujarat at 2.15 per cent.

Due to heavy rains, 301 different roads of the state have been closed on September 17, 2021 at 9.00 am. These include one National Highway, 16 State Highways, 20 other roads, 14 Panchayat Roads. Roads in Banaskantha, Vadodara, Chhotaudepur, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Dang, Rajkot, Morbi, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Amreli and Porbandar districts have been affected. Besides, 6 routes of ST buses operated by Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation have been closed and 131 trips have been canceled.
