Voting started at 7 am on Thursday for the by-political decision to the Bhabanipur seat, where West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is challenging, and two different voting public in the midst of tight security and rigid COVID-19 measures, authorities said.
The by-surveys are being held in south Kolkata's Bhabanipur, other than Jangipur and Samserganj situates in Murshidabad locale.
An absolute 6,97,164 citizens are qualified to practice their establishment in the three voting public. Votes will be relied on October 3.
Ms Banerjee, who lost from the Nandigram supporters in the gathering decisions recently, needs to win this by-survey to hold the main pastor's post.
Surveys must be contradicted in Jangipur and Samserganj in April following the passing of two up-and-comers.
As a component of its intricate security plans, the Election Commission has conveyed 72 organizations of focal powers in the three bodies electorate, of which 35 are positioned in Bhabanipur alone, the authorities said.
Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC have been forced inside 200 meters of the surveying places.
Long lines were seen since early morning outside a few corners across the supporters. Casting a ballot will proceed till 6 pm.
The surveying habitats have been loaded up with veils and sanitisers as a feature of the COVID-19 rules, the authorities said.
Ms Banerjee, who is additionally the Trinamool Congress supremo, is set in opposition to BJP's Priyanka Tibrewal and CPI(M's) Srijib Biswas in Bhabanipur.
