On Sunday, the Taliban entered Kabul and the Afghan government immediately agreed to a compromise with them. Afghanistan's acting interior minister, Abdul Sattar Mirajakwal, said the Taliban had agreed not to attack Kabul. They want a peaceful transfer of power and have agreed to it. Citizens should be confident about their safety. The Taliban has also issued a statement saying it guarantees the safety of civilians.
The Taliban have also demolished the Pul-e-Charkhi prison after Kabul's Bahram prison and released about 5,000 prisoners. Pul-e-Charkhi is the largest prison in Afghanistan.
The Taliban have taken control of four districts outside Kabul, most of which are closed to Taliban fighters. Sarobi, Bagram, Pagman and Karbagh. However, the Taliban told its fighters to stop at the gate outside Kabul. Citizens in Kabul say people in Kabul are hoisting white Taliban flags on their homes.
